Greenpois0n is very popular nowadays! I think a basic introduction would be useful.
There are two parts to Greenpois0n.
Greenpois0n is known as both a cross-platform hacker toolkit as well as a jailbreak tool for iDevices written by Chronic Dev (team). The toolkit is designed to help users find their own exploits for jailbreaks, write custom commands and create custom firmware’s. To sum it up I think the toolkit is for those who are interested in development in this area.
I guess most of us would be more interested in the jailbreak tool!!!
Initially Greenpois0n supported mostly Windows and Mac OS. However some time back I was going through a post regarding to a version that supports Linux. Yes now most of the versions from GreenPois0n support all three Operating Sytstems.
Absinthe 2.0.4 is the latest for the unjalibroken 5.1.1 devices. This new version provides untethered jailbreak for IOS 5.1.1 as well as the iPhone 4S and iPad 2.
Earlier Chronic Dev team had released Absinthe 2.0 – iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users, but unfortunatley it did not include support for iPad2,4 model (iPad 2, which comes with a tweaked A5 chip or iPad Wi-Fi R2 model) and Apple TV 3.
