I have an iPhone4 CDMA – 3.0.04
Purchases through Straight Talk and it has IOS version 6.1.3
I followed all instructions, downloading “iPhone3,3_6.1.3_10B329_Restore.ipsw” from at least 3 different soucres and RedSnow’s
“redsn0w_win_0.9.15b3”
And through a lot of trial and error, still am getting the Failed to decrypt kernel error… Please help.
Heather
Hello Heather,
The Failed to decrypt kernel error appears only when you are downloading the wrong IPSW for your iDevice. You need to download the “iOS 6 version” for your iPhone 4 CDMA. The filename for the right iOS 6 IPSW is iPhone3,3_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw and as you can see you are downloading the 6.1.3 iOS version.
Try the same procedure with the correct IPSW (iOS 6.0) and the Falied to Decrypt kernel error will dissappear.
If you are still having problems please leave us a comment and we will troubleshoot your issue more closely!

hey i have an Ipod 4th Gen on 6.1.3 version. i downloaded redsn0w 0.9.15b3 and put into manual IPSW this downloaded file, iPod4,1_6.1.3_10B329_Restore.ipsw and still the jailbreak is not working. it still says failed to decrypt kernel.. what should i do with that? thanks
Hello Michael,
You are doing the same mistake with Heather Walter above. You need to download NOT the 6.1.3 iOS version of iPod Touch but the 6.0 iOs version of iPod Touch (iPod4,1_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw). After downloading the correct IPSW file, re-try the jailbreaking procedure and “Failed to Decrypt” error should not appear again.
If you still have issues, leave us a comment.
